You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing. I wove my webs for you because I liked you. After all, what's a life, anyway? We're born, we live a little while, we die. A spider's life can't help being something of a mess, with all this trapping and eating flies. By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that.

~ Charlotte, "Charlotte's Web"

9 December 2017 is an historic date in Australia - Marriage Equality has been achieved. I am delighted to be able to offer my legal marriage services to any 'two people' who wish to marry.

So now a wedding can be:

a magical event, perhaps the only time we can live the dream of our childhood stories of the romantic prince and princess.

a deeply emotional journey that sets the foundations for a rewarding and satisfying partnership.

a joyous declaration of love and togetherness, witnessed by those nearest and dearest.

a weaving together of two lives, two families , two histories, two cultures...

A wedding can be all of these and so very much more....

for everyone.

Why are Tamara's weddings special?

I can clearly remember my own beautiful wedding and I treasure that memory. It was a magical day, very personal and a true reflection of our relationship. Thus I understand the importance of your wedding day - and I work hard to make sure that the ceremony we create is just what you want. I am keenly aware that, though I have a great deal of wedding experience, you don't (even if you have been married more than once)

I spend time with you, getting to know about your relationship and dreams for your wedding day. I use the information you give me and my intuition along with my creativity and experience to make suggestions, compose the ceremony and solve any issues we come across.

My goals are:

  • to deliver the ceremony you have dreamed of
  • for you to feel secure because you know what will happen during the ceremony and
  • that you are able to relax and really enjoy it

How many weddings does Tamara do?

I will only book 2 weddings on any one day, with a minimum of 4 hours between them. This ensures that you have my full attention and I can accommodate any mishaps such as late brides or waiting for lost guests.

As of April 2017 I have conducted nearly 450 weddings. Most of those have been outdoors and involved hand-fastings or other romantic symbolism.

What does the fee include?

in short - everything except travel that is more than 30km from my home.

For full details see my fee schedule.

I am developing my client access pages which give you heaps of information, links and ideas on everything from romantic nature venues in Perth and WA, ceremony examples, readings & poetry, medieval supplies (local and international), the history of the traditions we can draw from, favour ideas and much more... Until this is live, I will provide you with this information via email.

How much does Tamara charge?

My 2017 fee is set at $680. Bookings made after Jan 2018 will be $720. This is about mid range.

As a comparison, in 2017, the Perth Registry Office charges $371 for weddings between 9.30 and 4 Mon - Fri using a choice of 3 standard ceremonies in their Registry Office on the 10th floor of Westralia Square in the city. The difference in price allows for ceremonies conducted on weekends, in a location of your choice, personalising of your ceremony, a rehearsal and travel (except when the ceremony location is more than 30km from my home).

I am confident I offer excellent value for money and this has been confirmed by clients (please see my testimonials).

If you are on a strict budget and you really, really want my services, I suggest you reduce spending on some other aspect of your ceremony (I regularly see brides spend more on their shoes or cake than they do on their celebrant!) or please ask to discuss a barter arrangement with me. If this is not possible, I suggest you explore other celebrants or the Registry Office.

Why does Tamara insist on meeting couples before taking a booking?

The right choice of celebrant can make or break your wedding. You must be comfortable with your celebrant and be confident that they will deliver the ceremony you have dreamed of. The only way to do this is to meet and spend some time getting to know each other. If I am the one for you, you will know and if I am not your style then I encourage you to keep looking until you find your match. You wouldn't want to wear the 'wrong' dress or use the 'wrong' rings... your celebrant is even more important and it is well worth looking around to find the right one for you.
