This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.

9 December 2017 is an historic date in Australia - Marriage Equality has been achieved. I am delighted to be able to offer my legal marriage services to any 'two people' who wish to marry.

So now a wedding can be:

a joyous declaration of love and togetherness, witnessed by those nearest and dearest

a deeply emotional journey that sets the foundations for a rewarding and satisfying partnership

a magical event; weaving together of two lives, two families , two histories, two cultures...

I can clearly remember my own beautiful wedding and I treasure that memory. It was a magical day, very personal and a true reflection of our relationship. Thus I understand the importance of your wedding day - and I work hard to make sure that the ceremony we create is just what you want. I am keenly aware that, though I have a great deal of wedding experience, you don't (even if you have been married more than once).

Q & A:

How many weddings have I done?

As of April 2017 I have conducted nearly 450 weddings. Most of those have been outdoors and involved hand-fastings or other romantic symbolism.

I will only book 2 weddings on any one day, with a minimum of 4 hours between them. This ensures that you have my full attention and I can accommodate any mishaps such as late brides or waiting for lost guests.

What does the fee include?

in short - everything except travel that is more than 30km from my home.

For full details see my fee schedule.

I am developing my client access pages which give you heaps of information, links and ideas on everything from romantic nature venues in Perth and WA, ceremony examples, readings & poetry, medieval supplies (local and international), the history of the traditions we can draw from, favour ideas and much more... Until this is live, I will provide you with this information via email.

What is my fee?

My 2018 fee is $750. This is about mid range & equates to about $75/hr.

That rate allows me to conduct only 2 weddings per day, rather than line up 5 or 6. And that means you get my full attention and I am not going to have to leave you high and dry if you are running a bit late and I have to get to the next wedding...

As a comparison, in 2018, the Perth Registry Office charges $371 for weddings 9.30am-4pm, Mon - Fri, using a choice of 3 standard ceremonies in their Registry Office on the 10th floor of Westralia Square in the city and you can invite up to 35 guests maximum.

The difference in price allows for a unique personal ceremony conducted on weekends, in a location of your choice, a rehearsal and travel (except when the ceremony location is more than 30km from my home).

I am confident I offer excellent value for money and this has been confirmed by clients (please see my testimonials).

**If you are on a strict budget and you really, really want my services, I suggest you reduce spending on some other aspect of your ceremony (I regularly see brides spend more on their shoes or cake than they do on their celebrant!) or please ask to discuss a barter arrangement with me. If this is not possible, I suggest you explore other celebrants or the Registry Office.

Why do I insist on meeting couples before taking a booking?

The right choice of celebrant can make or break your wedding.

You must be comfortable with your celebrant and be confident that they will deliver the ceremony you want. The only way to do this is to meet and spend some time getting to know each other.

Although I am a bit of a chameleon, I do bring a particular style and flavour to my ceremonies. Couples who choose me are more likely to post in offbeat bride than in cosmo bride! Please know that what I offer is not for everyone but for those who are looking for a spiritual, earthy ceremony with an alternative vibe, look no further :)

You wouldn't want to wear the 'wrong' dress or use the 'wrong' rings... your celebrant is even more important and it is well worth looking around to find the right one for you. If I am the one for you, you will know and if I am not your style, then I encourage you to keep looking until you find your match.

The following pages have comprehensive lists of celebrants:

The Attorney General's Office

I also know a couple like minded celebrants in Perth. So if I am not available on your date, I can recommend you to someone like me.
